As anyone who knows anything about fitness and exercise knows that you have to start somewhere and move slowly, and the same principle applies to Yoga. Yoga is done by sitting, standing or lying down on a mat.
Some people see it only as a workout, and as a result, Yoga has become classified, in the west, as an exercise. If you are a natural leader, who has been practicing yoga for years, you are a great fit for the position already. It's important to be clear and concise - using too many words can break the flow of the class and cause more confusion than help.
Regardless which of the yoga techniques you choose, you should never begin any new exercise program without first consulting with your doctor. Yoga can be beneficial during pregnancy for example, and there are many women who suffer from circulatory problems during pregnancy. Talk to your students as if they were guests in your living room.
Of course, before starting any new exercise program, you are supposed to consult a medical doctor. So just sign up.
